Stir fried eggplant

Hello!

Finally it cooled down in Tokyo after many months of tropical weather. It feels so nice to walk outside in the day without getting sweaty. It was unusually hot this year in Japan. In the last few weeks, the temperature in Tokyo was hotter than any other main cities in the world!

Due to this heat, our gas use bill in the summer was nearly half of the usual time. I realised that I tried hard to minimize the cooking time in order to avoid the extra heat on my body... That means a lot of cold dishes were often on our dining table.
Ingredients:
egg plant
capsicum
soy sauce (2tbsps)
sesame oil
chili powder

1- Cut the vegetables.

2- Heat the sesame oil and stir fly 1. Powder the chili powder when you eat.

Please enjoy the taste of the egg plant with this simple recipe as egg plants go very well with oil.

Milk stew with summer vegetables

If you are too tired to cook every day, why not prepare a special lunch or dinner once a week? Set up nice dishes and interior goods and enjoy the slow food's feeling with your family or/and friends. Or even by yourself.

It's always fun to eat out at a beautiful restaurant but you can reflect yourself more by home-cooking. You can work together with your company and take your time, being away from the busy world.

Also adjusting your usual diet by home-made cooking is important. Ex. if you had a lot of protein on weekdays, then try to take much vegetables with less salt and butter!

Ingredients:
capsicum
carrot
onion
bacon
milk (2cups)
consomme soup (1cup)
butter
flour (1tbsp)
bay leaf
salt & pepper

1- Cut the vegetables and bacon into about 2cm pieces.

2- Heat the butter and stir fry the bacon and vegetables.

3- Add the flour and stir well. Pour the soup and bay leaf in and mix all well.

4- When the ingredients are cooked, add the milk and adjust the taste with salt and pepper.

Rice vermicelli salad

Japanese summer is hot, exciting and busy with festivals!

There are so many famous festivals in summer. You can even go to just a fireworks festival every weekend if you want. But be careful, those large-scale festivals attract too many people to walk properly. You can hardly find a place to sit unless you get there half day earlier.

There are also local dancing festivals from July to September in every community. We found one last weekend and it gave me a great feeling of Japanese old times. Old people were dancing in the circle with kids, some were catching gold fish, others were playing the little games and the good smell from all the little food shops made people hungry.
Please enjoy the vermicelli salad on a hot day.

Ingredients:
rice vermicelli
capsicum
carrot
salt
sesame oil (1tsp)
soy sauce (1tsp)

1-  Cut the capsicum and carrot thinly.

2- Boil the vermicelli and 1 for 5 minutes with a bit of salt.

3- Drain the water and stir with sesame oil and soy sauce.
