Fried burdock & another disaster

I hope that the volcano in Iceland hasn't affected you? There are so many people being stuck in the world, even at Narita in Japan. Narita city organized free tours for those people but it must be very difficult for them to sleep at the airport worrying about many factors such as their immediate and unexpected financial problem....

One of my Japanese friends who visited London couldn't come back yet after a week of her expected returning date. She said that it was stressful not to know the schedule as she should have started her work this week.

It's surprising that a volcano ash can spread over the large area. I'm worried about Mt.Fuji now... I hope everything gets back to normal soon.

Today I will cook some burdocks. Another burdock recipe is here.
Ingredients:
burdock
starch
soy sauce (2tbsps)
mirin (2tbsps)
sugar (1tsp)

1- Peel and cut burdock in 5cm pieces and half, then put in the water and leave it for 30 min.

2- After draining 1, put the starch around the burdock.

3- Boil 1 cup of water, soy sauce, sugar and mirin.

4- Fry 2 in a deep oil and put it into 3. Boil until it's cooked.

Itadakimasu!
